Overview

SnapBite helps you track meals, analyze nutrition, and manage your fridge list. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access and collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data we process

Account data

If you create an account: email address and optional profile fields you provide.

App content

Meal entries, fridge items, nutrition history, and app settings on your device; with cloud sync enabled, also in our backend.

Photos and camera

Photos you capture or select for meal or label analysis, used only to generate the requested nutrition result.

Voice input

Voice meal descriptions are converted to text by your device’s speech recognition service. We do not store raw audio unless required by the platform.

Health and fitness data (optional)

SnapBite may access health and fitness data only if you grant permission. This feature is optional; core meal tracking works without it.

• Collection: We read today’s steps and active calories from HealthKit or Health Connect after you connect the feature or grant read access. We do not write data back to Apple Health or Health Connect.
• Use: Display activity in the app and compute a local activity bonus. Health data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
• Storage: Summaries may be cached on your device only. Raw HealthKit / Health Connect records are not uploaded to our servers.
• Your control: Revoke access in SnapBite Settings, iOS Settings → Health → SnapBite, or Android Health Connect → SnapBite.

Advertising

The free version may show ads through Google AdMob, which may process device identifiers for ad delivery and measurement. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Diagnostics

Crash reports and basic technical logs (e.g. Firebase Crashlytics) may be collected to improve stability.

Why we process data

• Core features (meal analysis, history, fridge, recipes, activity bonus).
• Cloud sync when enabled.
• Ads in the free tier (where applicable).
• Reliability and user experience.

Storage and sharing

• Local data stays on your device.
• Cloud data (if enabled) is stored in our backend (Supabase).
• We do not sell personal data.
• Service providers (hosting, ads, crash reporting) process data only as needed to operate the app.

Account and data deletion

Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete account. Remove local data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage.

Your choices

• Use the app without an account or cloud sync.
• Decline health, camera, microphone, or ad-tracking permissions.
• Edit or delete entries inside the app.
